Get Published! Pronto Comics’ Contest is Open to ALL!
Looking to be part of the next dynamic duo in independent publishing! Pronto Comics’ “Phrases-to-Pages” is the event for you. Aspiring creators pair up (or get paired-up) into teams of two; one writer and one artist. Teams work together to write and illustrate one comic book page based on the bolded phrase at the bottom of this page!
All winners will be featured in Pronto’s special Big Apple Con Edition comic book, which will be distributed to industry insiders. But wait, there’s more!
First Place: Each team member gets a $50 gift card, a winner’s certificate, and a spotlight interview that will appear on the official Pronto Comics Blog.
Second Place: Each team members gets a $25 gift card, a winner’s certificate, and a bundle pack of Pronto Comics.
Third Place: Each team members gets a $15 gift card, and a winner’s certificate.
*Look for the Pronto booth. We will have the red and black balloons near Artist Alley. If you want to get a jump-start on the phrase on Saturday, you can turn in your artwork early or get more information at the booth. Follow us on Facebook to get up-to-date announcements.
Sunday, March 12th, in the Globetrotter Room: Phrases-to-Pages formally begins.
11:00am – Introductions, refresher on contest rules, and matching-up any solo participants. Contestants are free to brainstorm and draw during the remainder of the time.
11:45am – The contest ends in the Globetrotter Room, but contestants are encouraged to continue drawing! Contestants who need more time, there is a back room inside the Globetrotter Room where a Pronto Staff member will be there to facilitate extra time needed.
1:00pm – Contestants must submit all final artwork, complete with name, contact information, email addresses, and social media handles written legibly on the back. They can turn it in at the Pronto booth, or to the Pronto staff member in the back room of the Globetrotter Room after the contest.
1:45pm -Winners will be announced live at the show and via our Facebook Page.
